Diane Elliott - First President of Middleton Independent Spiritualist Church

Diane first visited a Spiritualist Church to see the famous transfiguration medium Queenie Nixon at Moston church in about 1962.

It was about five years later when John and Ella Warwick, neighbours at the time, took Diane to Moston Church for Healing. From there they went to Halliwell Lane Church, joining the Tuesday night circle and Diane being trained as a healer, ending up as Booking Secretary followed by Vice President of the Church.

Collyhurst was the next Church where Diane helped to build a thriving congregation. After five years becoming President for the following four years. Mavis Patilla trained Diane as a medium, with her first service taking place thirty years ago. Her Spiritual guide Mr Chan made his first appearance in Iceland in 1987, when Diane was making two trips there per year. Diane has also worked in Denmark, Finland and Germany until recently when trips had to be put on hold until she has a Kidney Transplant. In the meantime it is three sessions of Dialysis per week at North Manchester General Hospital. So whilst being grounded in Great Britain it is a good time to set up a much needed Spiritualist Church in Middleton.

About our Church

Middleton Independent Spiritualist Church was formed in April 2007

Opening in the location where the old Middleton Church closed down about ten years ago, Keith Hilditch and local medium Diane Elliott organizedWednesday night services at the Assheton Arms in Middleton. Starting at 7:00pm allowed time for both Spiritual Healing and a development class before 10:00pm. All mediums who attend have a proven track record, personality and bounce, with the sole aim of making people feel better when they leave.

Offer a warm and friendly welcome to old and new faces alike, and hope to create a church where everyone feels that it is their church with everyone being equal.

Mid 2007 it was necessary to find a new location due to changes taking place at the Assheton Arms. The Church relocated to The Scout Hut in Long Street, where it currently operates from.

Throughout the year we have a wide selection of special and fund raising event, which will help in our quest top obtain our own church eventually (of course in Middleton). Any fundraising ideas are welcome.

Enquiries to Diane or Keith on 0161 721 4603.

All are welcome.
